LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

Consider becoming a liturgical minister to assist our community in celebrating the Holy Mass at Sacred Heart Church.

We are especially in need of more volunteers to become Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers and Altar Servers.

Schedules are known in advance, and we work around any schedule conflicts.  For more information on liturgical ministries, please go to our  Ministries page or contact the parish office.

EUCHARIST BELIEFS

CATECHISM 1324: Source and Summit

The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life".  "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it.  For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch."

CATECHISM 1374: True Presence

In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist "the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained.:  "This presence is called 'real' - by which is not intended to exclude the other types of presence as if they could not be 'real' too, but becuase it is presence in the fullest sense: that is to say, it is a substantial presence by which Christ, God and man, makes himself wholly and entirely present."

CATECHISM 1391: Fruits of Holy Communion

Holy Communion augments our union with Christ.  The principal fruit of receiving the Eucharist in Holy Communion is an intimate union with Christ Jesus indeed, the Lord said:  "He who eats my lesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him."  Life in Christ has its foundation in the Eucharistic banquet..."

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION

The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ is June 2, 2024.  Save the date for our Catholic community Corpus Christi Procession through the streets of Fremont.
